Registrations opened in December 2020 for the JobMaker Hiring Credit Scheme.
Registrations are required through the Australian Tax Office Business Portal, or using online services or through your registered tax or BAS agent at any time until the program closes.
However, businesses must meet eligibility criteria. New employees taken on until 6 October 2021 will attract the JobMaker Hiring credit for up to 12 months from their employment start date. Claims can be made every three months from February 1, 2021.
Eligible employers will receive payments of:
- • up to $200 a week for each eligible employee aged 16 to 29 years old
- • up to $100 a week – for each eligible employee aged 30 to 35 years old
Note that if you’re receiving a wage subsidy under another Commonwealth program for an employee, you cannot claim the JobMaker Hiring Credit for that employee.

Sunshine Coast Council is offering more then $600,000 in funding in the current Major Grants round, which is open now and closes on 15 March 2021.
Eligible not-for-profit organisations can receive up to $15,000 for one-off projects; events and activities that meet community need and provide broad community benefit.
Grants of up to $30,000 are also available for infrastructure projects that involve the development, maintenance or improvement of building or land that contribute to providing a safe, accessible and inclusive community facility.

The COVID-19 International Tourism Adaptation Grant program is a key element of the Queensland Economic Recovery Strategy: Unite and Recover for Queensland Jobs to help accelerate the State’s recovery from COVID-19.
This funding boost $5 million aims to support regional Queensland tourism businesses that have suffered losses of income because of the international travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Queensland’s tourism businesses will be supported to pivot to a domestic market or hibernate until international markets reopen.
The key objectives of the COVID-19 International Tourism Adaptation Grant program are to assist tourism businesses to:
• pivot their product, service and/or marketing to a domestic tourism market
• meet operating costs while the business hibernates until international markets reopen.
To be eligible, the applicants headquarters must be located in Queensland and primarily operate outside the Greater Brisbane Area of Brisbane City Council, Redlands City Council, Logan City Council, Ipswich City Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council boundaries.
Grants from a minimum of $2,000 to a maximum of $10,000 (excluding GST) are available to tourism businesses in regional Queensland who can demonstrate they have suffered losses of income because of the international travel restrictions.
