As the Eumundi Streetscape Project nears its start date, Sunshine Coast Council has released a Construction Notification in follow up to the community information session held on June 12 at the Imperial Hotel. 

The notification, available for download on Council’s website here, provides a comprehensive overview of the construction process, including staging and anticipated impacts. Residents, property owners and businesses can find detailed information about temporary changes to traffic and parking conditions both in the notification and on the project’s dedicated website. 

To stay informed, the community is encouraged to subscribe to direct email updates from the Eumundi Streetscape Upgrade Team. The Chamber will also continue to disseminate updates through its regular EDMs and direct emails as new information becomes available.  

Key Highlights (26 June 2024): 

1. Stage One construction program is from August 2024 to February 2025, with a break over the Christmas-New Year Period.
2. Stage One is fully funded, and will commence August 2024
3. Day works are Monday to Friday, 6am to 6pm.
4. Night works (if required) will be Sunday to Thursday nights 6pm to 6am.
5. All works are subject to weather and availability of construction materials/equipment.
6. Works will now commence at the Bank Arcade end of Memorial Drive, and not Etheridge Street as presented at the June 12 Information Session. 
7. Memorial Drive at Bank Arcade end works are anticipated to be undertaken from August to October 2024. 
8. Memorial Drive at Etheridge Street end works are anticipated to be undertaken from October 2024 to February 2025. 
9. Stage Two (Memorial Drive - Lonergan Lane) works are subject to further technical investigations and funding. This stage of the project is anticipated to start in 2025.
